This 1963 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3.8 Roadster has undergone an exceptional, extensively documented restoration, transforming the car from the project pictured in our history file into the beautiful example offered today.
THE CAR
An early Series 1 3.8-litre Open Two Seater, accompanied by its Jaguar Heritage documentation and an extensive history and restoration file. The 3.8 Series 1 is widely regarded as one of the most desirable versions of the E-Type, combining the purity of the original design with the legendary Jaguar XK straight-six.

AN EXTRAORDINARY RESTORATION
The restoration began in 2017 and was completed in 2021, with an extensive photographic and documentary record accompanying the car. This was considerably more than a cosmetic refurbishment. The car was stripped extensively and the restoration included:
The restoration records document well in excess of 2,700 hours of labour, together with a substantial parts programme. More importantly, the car comes with photographs showing the restoration progressing from the condition in which it was originally acquired through to the finished vehicle.
