1984 Range Rover Classic – Electric Conversion

Full restoration, Tesla Motor, 0-60 sub 5 seconds!

This 1984 Land Rover has been professionally restored and converted to fully electric power in 2024 by Electric Car Converts Ltd, combining classic Land Rover character with modern EV performance and usability. Prior to the conversion, the vehicle underwent a full restoration and bare metal repaint by renowned Land Rover specialists Gumtree 4×4, ensuring a solid foundation for the build.

Power comes from a fully rebuilt Tesla Model 3 electric motor, mounted longitudinally within the transmission tunnel and driving both front and rear differentials, retaining permanent four wheel drive. Producing 280 horsepower, the system delivers strong performance. The motor benefits from new internal gear sets, bearings, oil, a limited slip differential, upgraded output shafts and an Ingenext control system. Energy is supplied by a 55kWh battery pack using brand new S-Volt battery modules housed within a Fellten Universal Battery Pack. Manufactured in Bristol, Fellten are widely regarded as market leaders in EV conversion technology, producing OEM quality battery systems for customers worldwide. The 400 volt battery system is water cooled and managed by advanced battery management and safety software developed by Fellten. Charging is possible via any Type 2 public charge point or from a standard three pin plug at home, making the vehicle practical for everyday use. Super fast DC charging allows for a 45 minute full charge, with a 0-80% time of around 25 minutes. This is only available from CCS public charge points such as those at service stations and petrol stations. Standard AC charging allows for an 8 hour full charge.
