The 981 GT4 is widely regarded as one of the finest driver’s cars of its era, and rightly so. Developed by Porsche Motorsport in Weissach, just 2,500 were manufactured for the worldwide market – a naturally aspirated Cayman with a manual ‘box, built with genuine motorsport intent.
But for those who appreciate something a little more focused, this example goes a step further. It’s a car we know well, having cared for it since early 2021. During this time, we have overseen its ongoing maintenance and carried out the installation of a number of performance and visual enhancements at the owner’s request.
Over the last two years, the owner has invested significantly in this GT4. The list includes:
In its original ‘standard’ configuration, this was already a superbly well optioned GT4, originally supplied in January 2016 by OPC Leeds, at a cost of £83,850.00.
Standard equipment includes Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Dynamic Engine Mounts (PADM) and Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) including mechanically locking rear diff.
The first 4 services were carried out by Official Porsche Centres. A further 4 services have been carried out here in the Williams Crawford workshop, the most recent in April 2025 at 42,885 miles.
The clutch and dual mass flywheel were renewed at 36,850 miles.
From factory, the mid-mounted 3.8-litre 6-cylinder produces 385 hp, driving the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox. Whilst no performance figures are quoted for the upgrades, the combination of intake, exhaust and software enhancements is intended to elevate both performance and driver engagement beyond standard.
