Exterior
Presented in timeless Brilliant Silver this 2004 C55 AMG estate has driven only 63k miles from new. It’s a very sharp example and after close inspection we’re impressed to see that the paint is completely original throughout, further testament to just how well this one has been kept. The body and underside are also entirely free of rust having resided on Japan’s unsalted roads for the first 17 years of its life. Looking closer around the car there are few blemishes to report, the most obvious being a light graze on the corner of the driver’s side front bumper trim. The double-spoke AMG alloy wheels have previously been refurbished and still present in very good order with high quality tyres all round. At the front of the car, the grilles remain in fine condition and the headlights are clear.
Interior
Inside, occupants are treated to sumptuous fine Nappa leather seats that are fully electric and heated. The upholstery has a lovely shine-free finish, and other than a few expected wrinkles commensurate with the mileage there is almost no wear to speak of. Other commonly worn items such as the gear knob and steering wheel are also very well presented with a perfect grain to the leather. The cabin is lifted further with lashings of glossy wood trim, and for modern convenience a touchscreen multimedia system has been seamlessly integrated in the dash. In the footwells, the carpets are protected by original AMG overmats in first-rate condition, and at the rear of the car the generous boot is clean and tidy with the complete toolkit and first aid kit still present.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Hand-assembled by a single dedicated AMG technician, the C55’s naturally aspirated 5.4-litre V8 produces an impressive 361hp at 5,750rpm. Lifting the bonnet of this particular example, you’re presented with a pristine engine bay showing no signs of accident damage or previous poor repair. Since arriving in the UK, the car has been regularly serviced at close mileage intervals, lastly in May 2025 at 58,546 miles. It has just returned from a mechanical inspection at our trusted classic car workshop and further benefits from new cam cover gaskets, new Pirelli front tyres, new front brake pads and discs, new bonnet struts, an AC re-gas, and an MOT – so she’s ready to be driven and enjoyed.
History File
This beautiful yet unassuming V8 AMG estate was supplied new in Japan in September 2004. It arrived in the UK in 2021 and, unlike many imported vehicles, was correctly registered with the DVLA to ensure ULEZ emission compliancy. The car was last serviced only 5k miles ago and comes freshly inspected and MOT’d for the new keeper’s peace of mind. The accompanying paperwork is complete with the original Mercedes book pack, owners’ manuals, a selection of Japanese maintenance documents, invoices for UK servicing and maintenance, recent MOT certificates, paperwork from the Mercedes-Benz UK Homologation Department, a factory spec list, and the current V5 showing two former keepers.
