Exterior

Resplendent in Starlight Black and looking every bit the low mileage of just 12,400 miles, this has to be the finest UK-supplied DC2 Type R available. The condition of the car is truly exceptional and doesn’t disappoint even on very close inspection. The paintwork retains a deep glassy shine and we’ve struggled to find any blemishes worthy of note. She’s arrow-straight along both sides, the lights are perfectly clear, and the trims are first-rate throughout. Having always been garaged the underside of the car is also extremely clean and very original with no unsightly black underseal. A best of breed example, worthy of any collection.

Interior

Opening the door reveals an immaculate interior. All the seats are in first-rate condition with no fading or wear to the black Dinamica cloth, even to commonly worn areas such as the driver’s bolster. The dashboard and centre console are pristine with no scratches or damage to any of the controls or carbon-effect trim, and the same can be said for the door cards. The steering wheel still retains a perfect matte textured finish, and the titanium gear knob also looks factory fresh. Unsurprisingly all the carpets are spotless and, quite remarkably, they are still protected by a genuine set of Type R overmats, again also pristine. Opening the boot reveals an immaculate luggage compartment with the space saver spare and rare Honda Accident Assistance Pack still present. To further protect and preserve the interior, tailored seat covers and spare Type R mats are included.

The engine bay remains in excellent unrestored condition, and free from any aftermarket modifications it’s just as you’d expect to see for the mileage. Barely run-in with only 12k miles under its belt, the car is as tight as a drum to drive. Originally a demonstrator vehicle at Hendy Lennox Honda in Exeter, the car was religiously serviced by its first private keeper who owned it from September 1999 until early 2016. Under current ownership the Integra has been carefully stored to maintain the low mileage and, for the new keeper’s peace of mind, a fresh service and MOT will be carried out upon sale.

This surely unrepeatable DC2 Type R was first registered in June 1999 by Hendy Lennox Honda in Exeter where it was used as a demonstrator vehicle for the first three months of its life. It was then purchased by its first private owner in September that year with only 1,636 miles on the clock. With the exception of 2005 the car was serviced every single year until 2016 when it was placed into long term storage to preserve its amazing condition and very low mileage. Having seen little use in recent years it was taken to Vertu Honda in June 2023 for a full vehicle health check, major service, cambelt change, new brakes (discs, pads, and calipers), and an MOT.
