Finished in red and presented in outstanding condition, this 1973 MGB Roadster is a superb example of Abingdon’s most iconic open-top sports car, benefiting from a recent full body restoration and a carefully chosen suite of upgrades aimed at usability and longevity.

The bodywork is excellent throughout, with crisp panel gaps and a deep, glossy finish. Notably, the underside has been body-coloured, a detail that speaks volumes for the quality and thoroughness of the restoration. Sitting neatly on new Minilite-style alloy wheels, the car has a purposeful yet period-correct stance.

Mechanically, this MGB has been upgraded for confident modern driving. Power-assisted disc brakes provide reassuring stopping power, while overdrive transforms longer journeys, allowing relaxed cruising at speed. A stainless-steel exhaust system from the manifold enhances durability and adds a subtle sporting note, complemented by an oil cooler and silicone coolant hoses for improved reliability.

The interior is equally well presented, trimmed in black leather upholstery with red piping, creating a smart and sporting cockpit. Inertia-reel seatbelts add a welcome safety upgrade without detracting from the period feel. A recent mohair hood completes the package, offering excellent weather protection when required.

This is an MGB that has clearly been restored and upgraded with care — retaining the charm and character that define the model, while incorporating sensible improvements that make it a pleasure to own and drive today.

A strong, honest example of a classic British sports car, ready to be enjoyed immediately.
