Exterior

Finished in Moonlight Blue, this ‘92 Volkswagen Corrado G60 presents in superb order throughout. The Corrado’s sharp, Karmann-penned lines remain striking with crisp shut lines and beautifully balanced proportions. The paintwork has been re-sprayed in recent years to a very high standard. The subtle metallic sheen comes alive in natural light and has a deep shine. The G60 badging hints discreetly at the performance beneath. The iconic pop-up rear spoiler — a Corrado hallmark — sits neatly within the tailgate. Factory-correct 15-inch BBS alloy wheels fill the arches nicely.

Interior

The cabin is trimmed in black leather, with the deeply bolstered front seats offering excellent support. The leather presents well, retaining a rich, even finish that speaks to careful use and sympathetic ownership. Ahead of the driver sits the original three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel, perfectly sized and wonderfully tactile and the matching leather gearknob falls naturally to hand. The dashboard and switchgear are clean and uncluttered, with a reassuringly solid feel throughout. Period details have been carefully respected, with the addition of a Blaupunkt Bremen stereo providing modern Bluetooth connectivity while maintaining an authentic, factory-correct appearance.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

Lifting the bonnet reveals the heart of the Corrado G60: Volkswagen’s characterful 1.8-litre supercharged four-cylinder. In 2022 Sprint engines rebuilt the engine to include a ported cylinder head, new exhaust guides, re-faced head, seats and valves. A new cam and followers were also fitted along with a lightened and balanced bottom-end. The same year, JMR rebuilt the supercharger and refinished the G60 cam-cover. Power is delivered through a slick-shifting five-speed manual gearbox, well matched to the engine’s torque-rich nature. The gear change is precise and confidence-inspiring.

History File

First registered in February 1992, the Corrado was sold through its supplying dealer Grange Motors Ltd. Amazingly, it has had just 3 keepers in 33 years, the previous having owned it for 28 years. Within the history folder you will find the VAG document folder with owner's manuals and a service booklet. Photographs of the engine rebuild and re-spray are also present, along with MOT certificates, spare G60 keys, and invoices for recent work.
