1976 Porsche 911 Targa Hot Rod

116K Miles, 3.0 Engine, Emerald Green / Tartan

This 1976 Porsche 911 Targa is a characterful and well sorted drivers car. Beautifully presented in its original factory colour of Emerald Green with the rare and desirable factory green/blue tartan interior that has just been re trimmed in the correct fabric. Previously converted to ‘Turbo’ wide body spec, its a well known car on the UK air cooled scene and was built to be enjoyed, which it most certainly has been. Sympathetically upgraded, mechanically refreshed, and proven on multiple European tours with the team from Boxengasse.

Now showing 116,000 miles, this 911 was restored in 2017, when it received new sills, kidney bowls and a complete repaint. It has since covered significant miles across Europe, reflecting both its reliability and drivability. Power comes from a strong 3.0 litre SC engine which was also refreshed in 2017, paired with a 5 speed 915 gearbox, benefitting from a new clutch and lightweight flywheel. The exhaust system has been upgraded with stainless steel SSI heat exchangers and a Dansk sports exhaust, giving a wonderful soundtrack. Chassis and suspension have been comprehensively sorted with recent Bilstein dampers all round and new bushes throughout. It runs on Group 4 8 & 9 inch wheels wrapped in almost new Pirelli Cinturato tyres. Braking remains standard and is non servo assisted, but with refurbished calipers and upgraded brake pads. The combination of its striking rare colour, tasteful performance upgrades, and continuous use make this 911 a great option and value for money in the current air cooled Porsche market. The car is not a show queen and although very presentable there are signs of use, some scratches and imperfections around the body and wear on the interior conducive with age. However this is a solid drivers car with great provenance, built to be driven and enjoyed.
