Exterior
Beautifully presented in stunning and rare Lago Blue, this 70k mile WR Quattro oozes 1980s charm with its angular design and wide box arches, a nod to its competition origins. Fully repainted in recent years – in the correct and original colour – the paintwork is exceptionally clean throughout, with hardly any imperfections to note. The whole car is very well presented with clear and unmarked headlights, arrow-straight flanks, and uniform panel gaps. The original Ronal wheels are also pristine having been refurbished and fitted with Pirelli P700-Z tyres all round in 2021.
Interior
The interior of the Quattro is in superb condition, more than reflecting its low mileage. The seats and door cards are upholstered in graphite Eton flannel – a far nicer option than leather in our opinion. The heated front seats are in excellent condition, are free from bolster wear, and still feel really firm and supportive. The sculpted rear seats are equally tidy. The iconic digital dash functions exactly as it should, and an original Blaupunkt Toronto cassette player is retained.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The legendary 2.1-litre turbocharged engine is very smooth throughout the rev-range, and the 5-speed gearbox still feels tight and precise. The distinctive 5-cylinder rumble is enhanced by a Miltek stainless exhaust system. Under the bonnet, the engine bay is clean with no signs of any damage or previous poor repair. For the new keeper’s peace of mind, a full mechanical inspection was recently completed by our trusted local workshop.
History File
This low mileage Ur Quattro was supplied new in September 1987, and it has been in the hands of just 8 owners since. It was first registered to NJM Guildford Ltd (office supplies), before moving into the name of the business owner, NJ Montague, who kept the car for 10 years. Within the accompanying history file, the lucky new keeper will receive the original VAG document pack, MOT certificates dating back to 1990, invoices for servicing and parts, old registration documents, a clean HPI certificate, and an original Quattro sales brochure.
