RS Looks. RS Character. Without the RS price tag.

The mighty ‘73 Carrera RS is one of the most revered 911s of all time – often replicated but rarely brought together this convincingly.

This one certainly delivers – 90% of the RS experience and 100% of the fun. It gives you the sound and feel of the real thing, and the freedom to truly enjoy it without breaking the bank.

Many homage builds begin life as later donor cars. This one doesn’t. It’s based on a genuine, US supplied 1973 911 complete with magnesium engine cases and transmission, just like the RS. It has the right bones and all the character, just without the seven-figure price tag.

And the way it gets down the road is very convincing. Both Adrian Crawford and Graham Kidd think it’s a cracker, feeling very strong and more powerful than the factory 210 hp. A 2.7 on steroids? The exceptional leak down results further support that all the motor upgrades are working very well indeed, with the twin Weber 46 IDA carbs offering raw, responsive power delivery.

Visually, it absolutely looks the part: the unmistakeable ducktail spoiler and correct flared RS rear arches, all wrapped up in a Grand Prix white jacket with Carrera decals in blue to match the staggered Fuchs alloys.

Louvered Glaverbel rear quarter windows and a pair of CIBIE spotlights complete the exterior, whilst inside, the RS spirit continues; Nomex-clad RS bucket seats complete with turnbuckle adjusters, Sparco 4-point harnesses, lightweight door cards and carpets. There’s a Momo Prototipo steering wheel, and on the dash, a pair of Heuer Monte Carlo rally stopwatches sit alongside a radio blanking plate with a ‘James Hunt’ signature.

What we can’t offer with this car is a big box of historic paperwork. Does that matter? This car is all about the now. It’s been fully inspected and serviced in our workshop, we’ve added a new set of Pirelli P6000s, it’s all ready to enjoy.

We can’t think of anything better than to write your own history with the fabulous RS creation.
