This particular example is presented in highly original condition throughout, retaining its factory panels and matching numbers drivetrain. With only 340 Club Sports produced worldwide—and just 53 in right-hand drive for the UK market—this is one of the rarest air-cooled 911s ever manufactured.
A full digital pre-sales inspection has been carried out by JZM and is available to view by appointment. The history file also includes previous inspection reports by marque specialist Peter Morgan, supported by a substantial collection of historical service invoices and documentation.
Developed as a homologation-inspired lightweight version of the 911 3.2 Carrera, the Club Sport (option code M637) was stripped back for focused performance. Porsche’s own quoted weight saving amounted to 117 kg compared to a standard Carrera 3.2—1,160 kg vs. 1,277 kg dry weight. Achieved through numerous detail changes, these included removal of sound insulation, thinner carpeting, manual heater controls, deletion of rear seats, electric windows, central locking, most audio equipment, and even minor weight savings like thinner wiring and a simplified starter cable.
While Porsche quoted identical peak power figures to the standard Carrera 3.2 (231bhp), the Club Sport received a 'blueprinted' engine with lightweight sodium-filled exhaust valves and an increased rev limit—from 6,250 rpm to 6,840 rpm—resulting in a noticeably sharper and more responsive driving experience.
A rare opportunity to acquire one of Porsche’s most focused and collectible 1980s models in outstanding condition, backed by provenance and presented with correct specification throughout.
