VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

The Aston Martin Vanquish Volante was the marque’s flagship model when it was introduced in 2013, and this low-mileage car is a superb example of this striking grand tourer.

First registered on 25 May 2017, it is beautifully presented in Meteorite Silver with Winter Wheat leather, and was specified with the distinctive One-77 steering wheel. Other options include the 10-spoke forged-alloy wheels.

The Volante has covered a whisker over 22,000 miles from new and is offered for sale with a full main-dealer service history. The first stamp in its book was on 24 April 2018, when it was serviced by Aston Martin Cheltenham at 8510 miles. With the exception of its 2019 service at Aston Martin Leeds, it has returned there every year since.

In October 2020, Aston Martin Cheltenham applied the AMI3 software upgrade, which not only improved the satellite navigation system, but also included Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth text messaging.

In February 2024, new Pirelli P Zero front tyres were fitted and a four-wheel alignment check was carried out, and the car’s most recent service was in May 2025 at 22,078 miles – once again at Aston Martin Cheltenham.

Being a 2017 model, this Volante benefits from the updated eight-speed ZF Touchtronic III gearbox rather than the six-speed unit that was fitted to earlier cars. Its soft-top opens andcloses in only 14 seconds, and three driving modes – Normal, Sport and Track – can be selected via a button on the steering wheel.

Combine its extensive specification with its fabulous V12 engine and beautiful styling, and you have a car that is undoubtedly one of the finest grand tourers of the modern era.

MODEL HISTORY

The second-generation Aston Martin Vanquish was based on the Project AM310 concept that was unveiled at the 2012 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. While the original V12 Vanquish had been the final model to be built at the marque’s historic Newport Pagnell site during its 2001-2007 production run, this new version would instead be built at its Gaydon factory.

Beneath the skin was the latest development of Aston Martin’s extruded aluminium VHstructure, into which the company installed its 565bhp, 5.9-litre V12 engine. That was enough to power the Vanquish from 0-60mph in 4.1 seconds and on to a top speed of 183mph.

The convertible Volante model was introduced in 2013 at a list price of £199,995 – £9000 more than the coupé. Not only was it said to be 13 per cent torsionally stiffer than the outgoing DBS Volante – the car it effectively replaced – but it also featured a considerably larger boot.

As well as its triple-layer lightweight roof, it was equipped with Brembo carbon-ceramic matrix brake discs gripped by six-piston calipers at the front and four-piston calipers at the rear. It also gained an adaptive ride set-up, and the long list of standard equipment included a Bang & Olufsen sound system.

Writing in The Sunday Times, Andrew Frankel said of the Vanquish Volante that, ‘The brakes are magnificent and grip levels fully commensurate with the performance.’ Henry Catchpole added in Evo magazine that, ‘The steering is also beautifully accurate and has a surprising amount of feel, so you’re always confident of placing the car where you want.’
