Exterior

This 27k mile S4 looks fantastic in its original ‘paint to sample’ metallic black hue. The 928’s sleek side profile is finished with a purposeful rear spoiler and attractive 16-inch wheels which, combined with the black paintwork and V8 rumble, are sure to draw many admiring glances out on the road. The overall condition of the car is excellent, and after a full detail and machine polish on arrival with us it’s hard to believe that she’s now 38 years old. As to be expected with an unrestored example such as this there are a handful of small stone chips on the front bumper and bonnet, but all the lights are clear and undamaged. The wheels were professionally refurbished a while back but are still first-rate, and only last year they were treated to brand new Pirelli PZero tyres all round.

Interior

The fully electric and heated front seats are trimmed in black leatherette with Porsche cloth centre panels, all in excellent condition with little more than a few creases on the driver’s side to evidence the mileage. The hand-stitched leather steering wheel and gear selector knob also remain in fine order, and there’s no marking to the switchgear, dash, or centre console. The door cards are equally well presented, and the contrasting Linen-coloured carpets are clean throughout with a full set of black overmats to keep them well protected. In the boot you’ll find the original fabric load cover and luggage net both present and correct.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

The engine bay is very tidy, not overly dressed to a concours standard but in great original condition in line with the vehicle age and mileage. Since purchasing the car from a prominent classic car dealer in 2016, the current owner has spent a small fortune on maintenance and repairs with invoices in the paperwork totalling more than £13,300 since 2021. The majority of the work was carried out by reputable Porsche specialists, and in preparation for sale the car has just been fully inspected by our trusted classic car workshop.

History File

This beautiful low mileage 928 S4 was originally supplied in July 1986. In the hands of only 5 registered keepers it has now driven a remarkable 27,144 miles from new. Having clearly seen little use in recent years the car has been given a thorough shakedown under current ownership with invoices in the paperwork detailing all the work that has been carried out. Also included in the History File are MOT certificates dating back to 1989, invoices back to 1990, old registration certificates, a replacement Porsche maintenance booklet with the car’s complete service history, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity verifying the original build spec, and the current V5C registration certificate showing only 4 former keepers.
