Originally benchmarked to be dubbed the ‘944 S3’, the 968 was Porsche’s finally incarnation of the water cooled, front engined coupe projects that stemmed from the original 924. To combat struggling sales at the time, the decision was made for a new project designation (968), and for particular attention to be made to facelift and modernise the model. Powered by the 3.0 litre 16v engine from the S2 944 but with the addition of variable valve timing, dual mass flywheel and updated electronics - the 968 was, and is a wonderful car, with the styling a huge step forward at the time with smooth, rounded bumpers and the addition of 928 style pop up headlights.

Registered in November 1993, this UK car finished in Horizon Blue offers a straight and true example, with a very good service record and long term ownership. With a desirable manual gearbox, HPi clear, additional sunroof and off white part electrically adjustable leather seats, the car in our opinion offers a fantastic candidate as a useable retro classic that would not be out of place at any classic car show, to use as a desirable daily or to perhaps convert into a CS spec / OEM + or track day and weekend car.

In summary , a straight and true car that has sensible miles for age (for a car of this type and usage), backed by a comprehensive service history, paperwork and original books. With a manual gearbox and desirable specification. Condition wise, the car is largely solid and clean throughout - bearing in mind it is 32 years old. It has recently had some cosmetic works carried out. The car does have some small dents, scuffs, and paint blemishes including some areas of lacquer issue and previous paintwork. As a comparison to other 968s of the time we feel this offers a great car for the money and to use as is, further improve or for modification.
