About This Example
991.2 Turbo S Cabriolet is often regarded as one of the most complete and capable open-top sports cars Porsche has ever built. With 572 bhp from its twin-turbocharged 3.8 flat-six, an intelligent all-wheel-drive system, and lightning-fast PDK transmission, it delivers performance that rivals the very best – all while retaining the comfort, refinement, and day-to-day usability that defines the Turbo badge.
991.2 brought with it meaningful improvements over the 991.1, including revised turbochargers, improved throttle response, a broader torque band, and the newer generation PCM infotainment system. As the last Turbo S before the larger, more tech-laden 992, it also strikes a compelling balance between modern digital capability and the purer, more mechanical feel that many enthusiasts still value – making it something of a sweet spot in the 911 lineage.
Finished in striking Sapphire Blue Metallic with a themed blue roof, this example is no ordinary Turbo S. Sporting the centre-lock wheels and the rarely specified Aerokit, which adds a unique front spoiler, sculpted side skirts, and a fixed rear wing – subtly enhancing both the car’s aerodynamic performance and visual presence. The result is a 911 with unmistakable character and a more assertive stance, yet it remains unmistakably Porsche in its sense of restraint and elegance.
Inside, the car features a custom-tailored at Zuffenhausen cabin, crafted by Exclusive Manufaktur – a rare and expensive touch that speaks to the car’s highly individual specification. The two-tone Crayon and Graphite Blue hide is beautifully appointed, with contrast Crayon stitching throughout and a deep sense of quality to every surface. Also featured is a heated Carbon steering wheel, adding a motorsport-inspired edge, while Porsche crests embossed on the headrests and silver model designations on the doors reflect the attention to detail that runs through the entire build.
Other notable optional equipment includes the front axle lift system, making navigating ramps and speed bumps effortless, while heated seats and the Burmester High-End Surround Sound System ensure supreme comfort and audio clarity for longer journeys.
This particular Turbo S has also been treated to complete Paint Protection Film (PPF) coverage, preserving its gleaming Sapphire Blue finish from stone chips and minor abrasions. Maintanence has been kept strictly within the official Porsche network, with the most recent service carried out by Porsche Centre Portsmouth in March, at 23,549 miles; giving the next custodian until 2027 to not have to worry about the next one. Importantly it also benefits from Porsche extended warranty, which runs until March 2026 – complete peace of mind for the next owner.
With its standout specification, bespoke interior, and full Porsche provenance, this Turbo S represents a rare opportunity to acquire one of the most well-rounded and desirable modern 911s – a car that blends supercar pace with everyday usability and open-top elegance in equal measure.
About This Model
The 991.2 Turbo S Cabriolet arrived in 2016 as part of the mid-cycle update to the highly regarded 991 platform, bringing with it a suite of meaningful upgrades that went far beyond cosmetic tweaks.
The Turbo S had already built a reputation as Porsche’s technological tour de force – combining ballistic performance, all-weather usability, and understated luxury – but the 991.2 pushed that envelope even further.
Under the rear decklid sat a heavily revised version of the 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged flat-six, now producing 572 bhp and 750 Nm of torque with the overboost function engaged. That represented a 20 PS increase over the outgoing 991.1 Turbo S, achieved through new turbochargers, upgraded injectors, and a re-engineered intake system. The result was not just more power, but improved throttle response and a broader torque curve – delivering effortless overtaking performance and instant punch in any gear.
The 0–62 mph sprint was dispatched in a quoted 3.0 seconds, though independent tests regularly saw times in the mid-2s, making it one of the fastest open-top cars in the world at the time.
Dynamics were further sharpened with updates to the active chassis systems. Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC), rear-axle steering, and torque vectoring all worked in harmony with the intelligent all-wheel-drive system and lightning-fast 7-speed PDK gearbox.
While these technologies first appeared on the 991.1, their integration and calibration were noticeably improved on the 991.2, resulting in even greater composure and agility – especially in the real-world road conditions where the Turbo S excels.
Visually, the car received modest but effective updates: new LED headlights with four-point daytime running lights, a redesigned front apron with active cooling flaps, more sculpted rear haunches, and 3D-effect tail lights. Inside, the cabin was enhanced by the introduction of the newer-generation Porsche Communication Management system (PCM), offering a crisper display, better smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay, and more intuitive controls.
What really sets the Turbo S Cabriolet apart, though, is its dual personality. Roof down, it’s a grand tourer with a soundtrack of turbo whooshes and flat-six urgency; roof up, it’s a refined, weatherproof GT capable of covering huge distances in comfort. In either mode, it retains the quiet confidence and engineering depth that define Porsche’s best work.
As the last Turbo S before the larger, tech-heavier 992, the 991.2 strikes a compelling balance between analogue feel and digital capability – making it one of the sweet spots in the 911 lineage.
