Produced between 1959 - 1967, the Austin Healey 3000 birthed an icon among sports car enthusiasts. A successful racer, with its breathtaking design and powerful and versatile 2.9 inline six engine it became a vehicle synonymous with performance and beauty, being highly regarded among the classic car fraternity.
We have the pleasure to offer this early MK1 (BN7) example. The BN7 was the model designation assigned to the far rarer 2 seater version. With over 90% of vehicles exported (mainly to the US), RHD examples were few and far between. Figures vary slightly, but the research we have done indicates this car is one of 157 RHD , two seater MK1s produced.
3000s have a long competition history, racing at most major racing circuits around the world, with success at Sebring (USA), Le Mans (France), Mount Panorama Circuit, Bathurst (Australia). The BMC competitions department rallied the 3000 from its introduction, and although they still race today in historic / exhibition racing the development of the works cars effectively ended in 1965 due to the success of the Mini Cooper S.
SUMMARY & KEY HIGHLIGHTS:
