An exceptional opportunity to acquire a beautifully restored and FIA-compliant early Porsche 911, this 1966 short-wheelbase 2.0-litre Coupé combines iconic design, meticulous craftsmanship, and motorsport eligibility in one highly desirable package.

Originally delivered new to California in 1966, this left-hand-drive example spent most of its life in the dry, rust-free Southwest USA before being converted to full competition specification—a process that spanned nine years and was completed in late 2008. A professional valuation from the time details its comprehensive mechanical specification. Notably, it formed part of the esteemed Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving in Phoenix, Arizona, as confirmed by documentation on file.

Since its acquisition by the current UK-based owner in 2015, the car has undergone a complete cosmetic and mechanical restoration by renowned Porsche specialist Steve Monk of The Body Werkes. The bare metal body was mounted to a jig, stripped, and refinished in silver, with every component—suspension, brakes, interior, engine, and gearbox—meticulously rebuilt or replaced. The restoration took over three years and is fully documented with extensive photography and invoices.

In 2019, the car was inspected and issued with FIA Historic Technical Papers (HTP), confirming its eligibility for historic motorsport events. The engine remains fresh the only mileage has come from a testing session. The car is reported to handle exceptionally well, with a gearbox ratio adjustment completed in September 2024 to improve performance.

Accompanied by a UK V5C registration document, Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, copy data card, historical US titles, and a comprehensive history file, this Porsche 911 is equally suited to serious historic racing, high-profile rallying, or inclusion in a discerning collection.

This is a rare and highly desirable example of the original 911—restored to a high standard, ready for competition with minor updates, and supported by exceptional provenance.
