1991 Volkswagen Corrado

An award-winning 2 owner supercharged Corrado with huge history.

HISTORY

Purchased from new by a Mr Curtis in October 1991 from Helston Garage VW Audi in Helston, Cornwall and owned by him until 2023. The service book shows 33 service stamps over 2 books! Only the 2005 service is missing (only because the 2004 service was late in the year and 2006 was early) then a few years missed in 2019, 2021 and 2022 as the elderly owner was not really using the car over this period. In October 2020 the supercharger was rebuilt by JMR a VW and Audi tuning specialist and the cambelt and tensioner were also changed in February 2020 (VW Audi cambelt changes are now recommended every 10 years or 100,000 miles). In 2023 the new, second owner changed the clutch (Sachs) and the discs and pads plus he changed the coolant, and has serviced the car three times up to 2025. A set of Continental tyres were fitted around the same time. Most of the services come with the corresponding invoices too. In 2024 the car was entered into the Stanford Hall VW Concours d’Elegance and won its class with a score of 134 out of 140. The MOT is valid until April 2026 with no advisories. Current mileage is 65,700 but it looks like a one year old car. Only 1,900 G60s were sold in the UK over a 3 year period and very few remain, making this a very rare, potentially one-off car.

Brilliant Black Metallic with Platinum upholstery, 1.8 litre 4-cylinder supercharged engine, 5-speed manual gearbox, 15 inch BBS alloy wheels, Blaupunkt Montreal radio/cassette with six speakers and roof mounted aerial, sunroof, electric heated and colour-coded rear view mirrors, central locking, power steering, first aid kit, electric front windows, leather trimmed gear knob, digital computer, rear head rests, split folding rear seats, leather trimmed steering wheel, electronic rear spoiler.

CONDITION

In outstanding condition throughout, with no dents or scratches – the paintwork is incredible. The alloys are in completely unmarked condition, the interior is mint with no rips, tears or marks on the seats and the cloth presents beautifully and the seat bolsters are unmarked and have not collapsed. The engine bay is excellent as is the boot area. Nearly new Continental tyres all-round. Both the sunroof and spoiler work perfectly. The car has had a full, clear Motor Check and we have two working keys and two folders full of paperwork and a full book pack with two service books. We are not too shy to say this might be the best G60 in the UK.
