Just 59K Miles, Genuine M491, FSH

We are proud to present this outstanding 1985 Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera Super Sport (SSE), a rare and desirable factory M491 ‘Turbo-look’ model finished in Guards Red paint, black leather interior with red piping and factory sports seats. First registered on the 12th of November 1985 and supplied new to the UK by Porsche Wilmslow. This right hand drive example has covered just 59,782 miles and remains in excellent condition both mechanically and cosmetically. It comes complete with full service history, the original book pack, and two sets of keys. Interestingly the car was first registered to Joe Foster the co founder of Reebok Ltd, adding interesting provenance to an already collectable example.

The Super Sport Equipment package (option code M491) offered the aggressive wide body styling of the 911 Turbo without the Turbo. This factory option included wider front and rear arches, a distinctive whale tail rear spoiler, uprated Turbo brakes and suspension, and wider 16 inch Fuchs alloy wheels. The car retains the 3.2 litre air cooled flat six engine, producing 231 bhp and paired with the 915 five speed manual gearbox, delivering an engaging, analogue driving experience that has become the hallmark of 1980s era 911s.

This example has clearly been cherished throughout its life, with well documented history. There have been nine previous owners, and the service record is thorough. The car was consistently serviced up until 2013, with the last stamp prior to a change in ownership recorded on 16th September 2013 at 54,562 miles. It was then recommissioned by Porsche Wilmslow on 9th August 2019 at 55,356 miles after a 6 year period in storage due to family circumstances (hence the low mileage). More recently, the car was serviced by D&G Porsche in Newcastle on 4th July 2023 at 55,882 miles. The most recent service was carried out by Porsche specialists Wrightune in January 2025 at 58,817 miles. This included a major service along with the fitment of new stainless steel heat exchangers, a stainless steel Dansk sports exhaust and pre silencer, new gearbox and engine mounts, a new air flow meter, and new oil pipes. The result is a mechanically sound car that is ready to be driven and enjoyed. The condition throughout is exceptional. The Guards Red paint retains a deep, consistent shine with excellent panel fit and finish other than one tiny paint imperfection on the rear bumper and a couple of small stone chips. The cabin is equally well presented, with black leather sports seats, showing only light wear in keeping with the mileage. All instruments and switchgear function as they should. This is a rare opportunity to acquire one of the most desirable variants of the 911 Carrera, a genuine factory Super Sport in an iconic colour combination, backed by low mileage and detailed history. Superb to drive and a car that continues to represent excellent long term value in the air cooled Porsche market.
