A restored and improved XK150 SE in British Racing Green

HISTORY

Originally a left hand drive 3.4 litre car in Mist Grey with Dark Blue interior, our car was exported from the USA to Ireland in 1989. It had already been up-graded to a 3.8 litre engine in the USA. In Ireland the car had the plate 59D4, a Dublin registration. The first Irish owner performed some restoration including a RHD conversion and BRG re-colour. The car was then sold in 1994 to another chap in County Dublin. In 1998 the car was for sale at Desmond J Smail of Bucks where it was UK registered by the first UK owner, Mr Knott. He and his father (a Gordon Keeble expert restorer and owner of Enotts Coachworks, Brackley) then restored the car to its current condition including a full interior re-trim by Mick Turley at MCT Nuneaton. At the same time a 5-speed Getrag gearbox was installed as the original 4-speed Moss box was passed its best (but can be supplied with the car if needed). Since restoration the car has been carefully maintained by XK specialist Stuart Playford at Rectory Classics, Surrey. The car has only 2 UK owners, the first up to 2024 and the second a friend of the first who can no longer enjoy the car. Upgrades and works are listed below.

In wonderful condition throughout with lovely almost unmarked paint, the wheels are in fabulous unmarked condition, the interior is excellent with no rips, tears or marks on the seats, full colour coded carpet set, superb chrome and stainless steel. The engine bay is excellent and the boot area and spare wheel are all in excellent condition. Under the car is in clean and tidy. The car has three sets keys and we have a folder of invoices, MOT certificates and owners manual, magazines, heritage certificate, photographs. Road tax, ULEZ and MOT exempt. A new MOT can be performed if required for the new owner. So overall a non-original, non numbers matching car but vastly improved over standard to make a superb fast driving road car, ready to be used and enjoyed. Watch our video for a full condition report.
