Delivered to its first Mayfair based owner in 1967, this delightful and extremely well maintained DB6 is available for the first time, after 22 years ownership and enjoyment. Originally manufactured with 5 speed manual transmission, Chrome wire wheels, a heated rear screen, 3 eared hub caps and a power operated aerial, as presented today. Finished in Silver Birch with Black hide interior, the car received a colour change to British Racing Green, prior to the last owners purchase 22 years ago, in 2003.


Tastefully evolved and improved over several years, this attractive example of the popular DB6 is equipped with a 4.2 litre engine, to Vantage lead free specifications, rebuilt and installed by renowned Aston Martin racing specialists in the late 1990’s, since when the car has covered just over 20,000 miles. Other desirable upgrades carried out by Aston Martin Works more recently include the installation of refrigerated air conditioning, improved cabin insulation and new Wilton wool carpeting. Other desirable upgrades fitted, include a switchable EZ electrically assisted steering system, an upgrade of the front and rear suspension with Koni telescopic damping front and rear as well as the fitment of an uprated Harvey Bailey front anti-roll bar, improving both the road holding and handling.


In the last ownership for 22 years, this highly accomplished and extremely well preserved DB6 has been maintained to the highest standards and regardless of costs, as confirmed in the well documented service history. Since 2003 all maintenance, servicing and upgrades have been carried out by the combined skills and services of Aston Martin Works in Newport Pagnell and by specialists R.S. Williams Ltd and Goldsmith & Young Ltd. The cars current condition, being an excellent testament to the care and attention deployed by all, in preserving and improving this much cherished and enjoyed example.


In production 1966 to 1970, the DB6 model remains the most successful of the 1960’s DB range of cars, built during a golden era of Aston Martin production. Offering, in period high performance and vice free handling, which when combined with the spacious interior and ample boot capacity, satisfied customer requirements of the day, for a touring car capable of continental touring in comfort. When equipped with the 4.2 litre 285 bhp Vantage specification engine and a 5-speed manual gearbox this DB6 is ideal for classic tours and weekend trips, being highly capable of covering long distances in air-conditioned comfort, whilst delivering compelling performance on the open road.


Included, is a leather bound and highly detailed history file, which includes all services and maintenance invoices covering the last 23 years. MoT test certificates, covering the last 30 years accompany a copy of the manufacturers build records and a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate.
