Offered for sale is a 1969 Jaguar E-Type Series 2 Fixed Head Coupe ‘Eagle’. A UK-supplied right-hand-drive example finished in its original Light Blue over Dark Blue trim, just as it left the factory in July 1969. This particular car, chassis number 1R 40809, retains its original engine, body, and gearbox numbers, all as confirmed by its official Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate. The car was dispatched new via Henlys of London and first registered as WVG 859H in Somerset. Remarkably, it is accompanied by full documentation from new, including the original sales invoice issued by Harry Dando on 31st July 1969, forming part of a comprehensive history file that charts its ownership and maintenance across more than five decades.

Significantly, this is the 11th E-Type to receive the sought-after ‘Eagle’ treatment, completed in 2004 at a cost exceeding £32,000. Eagle, widely considered one of the foremost specialists in the world for E-Type engineering and enhancement, carried out a series of carefully considered upgrades and improvements. Eagle’s work included their full cavity wax protection and a raft of mechanical and cosmetic refinements to elevate the car to their high standards, all of which remains documented in the history file. The Eagle supplied manual and invoice for their works are also included.

Mechanically, the car remains in excellent condition. It was last serviced eight months ago, with minimal use since, and can be freshly serviced again prior to sale for peace of mind. The 4.2-litre straight-six engine is the correct specification and matches the Jaguar Heritage records. A copy of the official Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate confirms its provenance, original specification, and matching numbers throughout.

This is a highly original, and low owner car – just 3 owners from new, and has been in the hands of its current keeper for over a decade. It is accompanied by a substantial history file that documents its life from new, including the original dealer documents, servicing history, and full details of the Eagle conversion.

It is rare to find in such original colours and with the added benefit of an early Eagle conversion, this is a fantastically well looked after matchning numbers E-Type that offers excellent provenance, tasteful upgrades, and a fully documented history.
