‘Breathtakingly exciting and the most communicative of its generation, the 991-generation 911 GT3 RS was a triumph.’ That’s how Evo magazine capped its review of the hardcore track-focused Porsche 911 upon its launch back in 2015.
High praise, indeed. But then this was an exceptional sports car, crammed with technology created with expertise gleaned from Weissach’s real-world motorsport experience through the years. Features such as the titanium connecting rods, rear-wheel steering and dynamic engine mounts. Want an example of the sheer rate of development we’re referencing? The 991-generation 911 GT3 RS lapped the Nürburgring a staggering nine seconds quicker than the Carrera GT, Porsche’s former flagship V10-powered supercar.
The headline-grabbing top-line figures were as such: 500HP from its 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat-six engine, 0–60mph in 3.3sec, and a top speed of 193mph. You need only watch the onboard footage of Porsche’s GT product-line director Andreas Preuninger thrashing the 991-generation GT3 RS on the demanding Bilster Berg circuit to appreciate its on-track credentials.
Finished in the 991-generation GT3 RS’s stunning launch colour of Ultraviolet over a Black interior, this example was ordered new at the beginning of 2016 by a German enthusiast who’d built a remarkable collection of Porsches spanning the Stuttgart marque’s entire history. The car was specified with a number of factory optional extras, most notably the front lift system, clear rear lights and the Sport chrono package.
This GT3 RS was delivered to its first and only private owner in the April of 2016 and subsequently road-registered in Germany. In the time since then, it’s covered a mere 6,873 documented kilometres and been serviced thrice by the Porsche Centre Frankfurt, most recently in May of 2023. It retains its tool kit, tyre compressor, leather documents pouch complete with all its factory manuals (including the stamped service book) and official Porsche correspondence and invoices.
Suffice to say, this is a generously specified low-mileage example of Porsche’s flagship 911.1-generation 911, presented in excellent condition, with only minor gravel rash to the most exposed sections of paintwork and slight creasing to the driver’s seat bolsters. The car is currently located in Monaco and European taxes paid.
