1951 MG TD

This one-of-a-kind 1950 MG TD has undergone a previous restoration, blending classic British styling with modern performance. It was originally imported from Denver, Colorado, in the late '90s, when it was converted to RHD.

The MG TD was fitted with a Volvo B18 1800cc twin-SU engine, offering a significant performance upgrade over the original XPAG engine. The car has been meticulously rebuilt, ensuring it is reliable and powerful.

The Volvo B18 engine, producing 110-115 BHP, was completely overhauled, with a re-bore, new valve guides, and an unleaded cylinder head.

The gearbox, including the overdrive, was also reconditioned to guarantee smooth and reliable shifting.

The chassis was stripped, blasted, and painted, and the front end now features disc brakes and a servo mounted under the floor, providing excellent stopping power.

The rear axle has been fully rebuilt with new bearings, seals, and upgraded TR2 hubs.

The car also boasts several modern upgrades, including an MGB rack and steering components, MGB dampers, kingpins, and hubs for wire wheels, which enhance both handling and ride comfort.

The engine runs smoothly and provides ample power for a truly enjoyable driving experience. Thanks to the disc brakes and modernized suspension, the car stops confidently and is ready for the open road.

The bodywork has been completely restored, with every piece of wood replaced using high-quality sections. The doors were particularly challenging but have been meticulously restored. The body panels were dip-stripped, primed, and then reattached before being painted.

The car is finished in a striking, high-quality finish, complemented by new trim, seats, a custom burr walnut dash, and electronic instruments.

The electrical system was upgraded with a new loom, a larger fusebox, an alternator, and halogen headlamps for improved visibility.
