Th Ferrari F355 GTB represents a landmark in Ferrari’s history, marking a new era of engineering excellence and design sophistication for the marque. Introduced in 1994 as a replacement for the 348, the F355 was a response to growing competition in the mid-engine sports car market. Ferrari sought to create a car that not only delivered exhilarating performance but also refined everyday usability, bridging the gap between a thrilling track machine and a comfortable road car.

At the heart of the F355 is its 3.5-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine, an evolution of Ferrari’s long lineage of high-revving V8 powerplants. Producing 375 bhp at 8,250 rpm, the engine features five valves per cylinder (hence the ‘5’ in the model name), a design derived from Ferrari’s Formula 1 technology of the era. This innovation enhanced airflow and combustion efficiency, allowing the F355 to deliver astonishing performance figures: a 0-60 mph time of 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 183 mph, making it one of the fastest road cars of its time. Coupled with the iconic gated 6-speed manual gearbox, it provides an immersive driving experience and razor-sharp precision that continues to impress owners and collectors even today. The 355 has always been well known for it’s iconic exhaust note that has that has now become synonymous with Ferrari’s mid-engine sports cars. Supplied with the 6-speed gated manual, these F355 GTB’s are regarded by many as the pinnacle of Ferrari’s engineering and driving experience.

This example has recently undergone a light overhaul, addressing the infamous ‘sticky button’ issue commonly found in Ferrari’s from the 1990s-2000s. The timing belts and clutch are also currently being replaced by independant Ferrari specialists, Keys Motorsport.

With well-maintained, naturally aspirated, manual Ferraris becoming harder to find by the day, Besley Heritage are delighted to offer an example as desirable as this.
