1982 Foulkes Impala

A super-rare and super-cute Fiat 500 based utility kit car!

HISTORY

Launched in the UK in 1981 this example of the Impala was purchased as a kit in May 1982 and we still have the original sales invoice for £723.50! This includes extras of colour (Poppy 5352) as the basic kit was an Ivory colour, roll-over bar, hood and frame, side screens, set of mats, set of cables – all still present with the car. The V5 is for the Fiat 500 donor car so is registered as a 1972 so this car is tax and MOT exempt. Purchased by the current owner in Feb 2024 at Mathewsons and he has since recommissioned the car so it runs very well indeed. The car has 3 previous owners. Odometre shows 6500 miles but we cannot warrant this. We have a nice lot of invoices, old MOT certs and the copies of the build manual and instructions.

SPECIFICATION

499cc engine, Poppy red with red and white vinyl seats, CD player and 4x speakers, roll-over bar, canvas roof and side screens, sports steering wheel, full-size spare wheel, 4-speed manual gearbox, tool-kit and jack.

CONDITION

In great usable condition, mechanically sound, new battery, seats are unmarked, the roof is in wonderful condition with lovely clear perspex windows, wheels are excellent as are the tyres. Under the front boot presents well with toolkit and jack present and fuel tank painted black. Engine presents well and the whole car is super solid with not obvious rust.
