Exterior
Finished in Arctic Silver over black this left-hand drive C4S presents in excellent mileage-defying condition. The odometer reads a modest 79k miles but the car looks to have driven only half that. The paintwork is almost entirely unmarked and there are no signs of any corrosion, accident damage, or previous poor repair. The black window trims and rubber seals are all first-rate, and the rear reflector panel is perfect. The 18-inch Turbo look alloy wheels are also immaculate and there is no marking or lacquer damage to the brake calipers. Having resided in a dry climate for most of its life the underside of the car is also notably fresh. All in all, a stunning non-sunroof example in a timeless colour combination, further equipped with a Turbo rear wing and that all-important third pedal.
The black leather upholstery remains feeling soft and supple with absolutely no marks or wear to suggest the car has been anything other than cherished all its life. The air conditioning is fully operational, and we’re pleased to see the original Porsche cassette player still fitted. The steering wheel rim has a perfect factory texture to the leather, the gear knob is also free from any major shine, and the complementing black carpets are excellent. The rear seats appear to have seen very little use, and the front luggage compart is spotless.
The engine bay is remarkably clean and, having been well maintained since new, the mechanics of the car are in fine fettle. The 3.6-litre flat six fires up first turn of the key and idles smoothly up to temperature. Being a later 993 this one is equipped with Porsche’s Varioram induction system giving vastly improved low to mid-range torque over pre-1996 examples. Reading through the accompanying paperwork the car has always been serviced at close mileage intervals and clearly it has wanted for nothing. The last service was carried out by our trusted Porsche specialist just a few hundred miles ago.
Since its first registration in 1997 this manual C4S has driven only 79k miles. Having resided on the salt-free roads of Japan for most of its life the condition of the body and underside are magnificent. The original Porsche document pouch and handbooks are all on file along with a selection of maintenance invoices, recent MOT certificates, and a spare key. The most recent service was carried out late last year and for additional peace of mind the car was fully inspected on arrival with us with a clean bill of health.
