Proven race winner, Recent engine rebuild, Ready to race!
Step back into the golden era of British motorsport with this exceptional 1963 Ford Lotus Cortina Mk1. Developed in collaboration between Ford and Lotus, the Lotus Cortina became a dominant force on both the road and track, earning its place as one of the most desirable sporting saloons of the 1960s. This genuine early production A Frame car was converted to race spec in the late 1990’s , developed by Nick Stagg Engineering and is effectively known as LUV12 (LUV11 was built at the same time for 2 friends to race together). There was a time between 1999 and 2004 that this particular car was the most dominant and successful Lotus Cortina racing in the UK. It has been successfully raced across Europe with a lot of success in the subsequent years, including the Spa Summer Classic, Oulton Park Gold Cup winner, HSCC and CSCT. The car is well prepared, benefiting from a recent full engine rebuild by Ocelli Classic & Sports Cars in 2023, with invoice on file for over £7,000. In recent years the car has raced at Spa and with the CSCC, every time the car has been on the podium and achieved fastest touring car lap in the 2 events it entered last year at Croft and Silverstone. The car used to have FIA papers (now out of date), current HSCC papers, V5 and original buff log book on file. It comes with a selection of running spares and documented race data from the last owner. A well sorted fast car that could be used in CSCC, CTRC and HRDC.
This is an outstanding example of a legendary car, offering a thrilling driving experience and is ready to go racing, complete with a selection of spares and a spare set of wheels.
