A mere eight right-hand-drive Ferrari 599 SA Apertas were delivered new to the United Kingdom, of which this stunning example – chassis number 185603 – is one. The original owner, one Mr. Burnell, went to town with the specification of the car, opting for the ravishing Extra-Campionario shade of Rosso Formula 1 2007 for the exterior and full Beige leather inside. The slightly darker, more metallic shade than the ‘standard’ Rosso Corsa is stunning – especially in direct sunlight, when it assumes a full-bodied burgundy.
The extensive list of optional extras is listed at the bottom of this page, but those which caught our eye include the electronic carbon-fibre racing seats, carbon-fibre driving zone, 20-inch chrome painted alloy wheels, Rosso stitching and silver dedication plate. Crucially, this SA Aperta was also specified with the ultra-rare carbon-fibre hard-top, which enhances the overall useability and refinement of the car.
Just two months after it was delivered in March of 2012, this SA Aperta was issued with its Ferrari Classiche certification binder, confirming its original factory numbers. In the years since, chassis number 185603 has passed through the hands of just two further owners, covered a scant 4,872 miles and been regularly serviced, predominantly by Ferrari main dealers. The most recent service was carried out by Meridien Modena in July of 2024, during which the front- and rear-brake wear was noted as four percent.
Overall, the condition of this Ferrari is commensurate with its mileage. The comprehensive protection film has ensured the Rosso Formula 1 2007 paintwork remains in flawless condition, while infrequent use has meant the ‘Beige’ leather upholstery shows only the slightest signs of wear. The chrome painted wheels are all unmarked. There really is very little from a condition point of view to not – a testament to the diligent care of the car’s handful of owners.
Chassis number 185603 is accompanied by its original factory hard top, roof pillars and their leather pouches, two wind deflectors, documents pouch including warranty card, battery trickle charger, car cover, tool- and tyre-repair kit, spare key and two trackers.
A limited-edition open-top V12 Ferrari with Pininfarina-engineered beauty, mind-bending performance and an exhaust note that could move even the hardiest of men to tears, the 599 SA Aperta boasts a heady recipe of attributes. Especially for today’s younger and more discerning collectors. Chassis number 185603’s unique specification, low mileage, corresponding near-flawless condition and full service history render it among the most desirable modern-era 12-cylinder Ferraris currently available.
