Offered here is a “historic rally” modified 1971 Triumph TR6. The car was bought by its current owner in 2018, purchased with very little known history prior. From then, the owner decided to completely rebuild the car from the chassis upwards, with the chassis being rebuilt, strengthened and painted to offer the durability associated with road rallies. Every component was stripped and examined, being either replaced or rebuilt, including the shock absorbers being completely renewed. Powered by the Triumph PI engine, and fed by triple weber carburettors and a fast road cam. The gearbox was also refurbished, and now has overdrive on the rebuilt 3rd and 4th gears. The interior was also completely refurbished, with a roll bar system fitted. The car was also fully repainted from bare metal, in this beautiful blue with white stripes colour scheme, which really compliments the car. On the front, extra lights have been fitted, along with the headlights being changed to halogen.
Since its recommissioning in 2018, the car has done 3000 miles, many being done in the rallies it has competed in at an average of 40 miles an hour. Inside it features a Monit navigation system, connected to a wheel sensor, for great accuracy. There is a full history of the work completed in 2018, along with all the eligibility and registration documents. Since its last rally in 2022, it has been garaged for most of the time, but still remains beautiful to drive and is certainly welcome in any historic rally event.
