Almost 40 years later, the superb restoration of this beautiful DB5 commenced, in 2004. With the removal of the all-alloy body from the steel chassis, the restoration included a full chassis restoration, a full mechanical rebuild including to the engine and transmission, a full body restoration and complete rebuilds to the suspension, brakes, steering and electrics. A bare metal repaint, re-chroming of the bumpers, window frames, handles and all bright work were completed and the interior, fully re-trimmed in highest quality Black hides with Slate Grey Wilton carpeting and a new headlining, completed the restoration
The full restoration completed over a 2 + year period, was carried by highly respected UK based Aston Martin restorers, utilising the skills of former Aston Martin factory trained and employed craftsmen, engineers and technicians.
Within the restoration, a discreet and efficient refrigerated air conditioning system with full cabin insulation has been installed, along with an EPAC’s switchable power assisted steering upgrade and a desirable heated front windscreen fitted. All desired concessions to modernity, helping improve this cars comfort and practicality in modern day motoring conditions. A desirable Becker Mexico retro in car entertainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, has also been installed.
