This Mustang Fastback was built at Ford's Metuchen plant, New Jersey on 30th August 1966, as a ’67 model. Built as a genuine ’S’ code the car was originally finished in Nightmist blue with matching vinyl bucket seats and was despatched to Steuart Motor Co. in New York, Washington State.
It was shipped to the UK in 2015 from the dry state of Arizona, re registered in the UK and subsequently extensively restored by Pomona cars effectively being rebuilt from the ground upwards - with suspension, interior, chrome, wheels/tyres, and air conditioning system all receiving attention.
A fresh 351ci (5,754cc) Ford Cleveland V8 engine was installed and with AOD (automatic overdrive) four speed auto gearbox, the 4th gear acting as an overdrive. This engine boasts roller rockers; a Crane camshaft; flat-top pistons; Edelbrock inlet manifold and carburettor, Flowmaster exhaust, Headman headers, billet pulleys and variable-setting ignition system. The car was also repainted the ‘Forest’ green.
Since then further work to the car have included a power brake conversion for the front wheels, modified gearbox rear mount, new prop shaft and diff oil seal, new heater matrix and a wheel camber adjustment with rear ride height adjustable shock absorbers and tune up in 2021.
Showing 56,276 miles the car has only covered aprox 2,000 miles since all this work was completed and remains in excellent condition and great running order. It is supplied with a history file of invoices for work completed and a copy of a Marti Report (USA) confirming the car as a genuine ’S’Code model.
