This low mileage 3.0 M Sport coupe presents very nicely in Mystic Blue metallic. Looking closely around the car the body remains in good condition with only a few minor marks and blemishes to the original paintwork. Being a facelift example, the car sports the later Xenon headlights and LED rear light clusters, all undamaged. But what really sets this one apart from the rest is the excellent rust-free condition of the underside. Having resided on the salt-free roads of Japan from new until 2021 the car has not suffered from any of the usual E46 corrosion issues.
The M Sport theme continues inside with sports seats trimmed in a smart anthracite Alcantara and cloth combo. The upholstery presents well and is still notably soft with only some expected wear on the driver’s bolster worthy of note. All the electric adjustments work perfectly including the memory function ensuring the driver’s seat is always correctly positioned. Other commonly worn areas such as the gear selector and sports steering wheel are both in good order with an excellent grain to the leather. Some light marks are visible on and around the centre console trims but the switchgear is free from marking and operates well. The original BMW MiniDisc head unit is retained – when was the last time you saw one of those?! – along with the boot-mounted 6 CD changer and full set of velour overmats.
The 3-litre straight-six is the pick of the bunch, offering effortless silky-smooth driving while still packing a punch when you need to get a shift on. The auto ‘box is a perfect match for the 330 with almost undetectable gear changes. With only 59k miles under its belt this example is accompanied by a great service record, the last service having only just been carried out in August this year at the current mileage. The car was also fully inspected and the gearbox input shaft seal replaced.
This superb facelift 330Ci Sport was first registered in Japan in June 2003. Having only arrived in the UK in 2021 the car remains in excellent rust-free condition throughout, especially to the underside. Within the accompanying History File you’ll find the original BMW document wallet, all handbooks, spare keys, and the original JDM service booklet. The current owner purchased the car from us as a fresh import and has enjoyed it for the last 5k miles.
