Equipment

Ming Blue pearl effect paintwork, Silk Nappa leather upholstery, Heated and electric Recaro sports seats, 17-inch Avus alloy wheels, 6-speed manual transmission, quattro permanent four-wheel drive, Rear parking sensors, Bose sound system, Polished aluminium mirror casings, Digital climate control AC, Electric windows, Electric door mirrors, Leather sports steering wheel, Piano Black interior trim, Xenon headlights, Sports suspension, Original overmats, Spare key.

Exterior

The elegant Ming Blue paintwork on this 225hp facelift example remains in fine order with a lovely depth of shine across every panel – our studio photos really don’t do it justice. The dark navy hue is accentuated perfectly by the polished aluminium mirror casings, exhaust tips, and crystal-clear Xenon headlights. The car is pleasingly unmodified and still sits on the original 17-inch Avus alloy wheels, all wrapped in matching Michelin PS4 rubber. As can be expected there are a handful of minor defects to note including a very small blister on the boot trim above the number plate and a couple of light marks on the rear bumper insert. All in all, an impressive example in a great colour combo.

Interior

The contrasting Silk Nappa leather Recaro seats remain feeling comfortable and supportive. The electric adjustments all work as they should and the upholstery is free from any major marking. The whole interior is very well presented with other commonly worn areas such as the leather gear knob and steering wheel both in excellent original condition. The carpets are also great and are still protected in the footwells by the original velour overmats. Over and above the standard S3 spec this one features heated front seats, rear parking sensors, the Audi Symphony head unit and Bose sound system.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

Unlike many first generation S3s that have covered well over 100k miles this one has driven only 94k with an excellent maintenance record to match. Reading through the accompanying paperwork it’s clear that the car has always been maintained to a high standard with 14 stamps in the book and a thick raft of invoices detailing all other work. In line with this the engine bay is very clean and tidy, and it’s absolutely spot on to drive. The last service was carried out only 3k miles ago in September last year, and the most recent cambelt change was completeted in September 2022.

History File

This attractive facelift S3 with the later 225hp output was first registered in March 2002. It has now driven 94k miles in the hands of only 5 owners. The History File comprises the original leather Audi document wallet with all handbooks, the fully stamped service book, numerous MOT certificates and invoices going back to March 2002, old registration certificates, a spare key, and the current V5 showing 4 former keepers.
