Exterior

The understated silver paintwork presents to a very high standard with no major scratches or scrapes to evidence the mileage. She’s pin sharp along both sides and all the lights are clear and without moisture ingress. In fact, aside from a handful of light frontal stone chips and one discreetly touched-in small mark on the rear bumper, we have been unable to find any notable defects. None of the wheels have any kerb marking and the Shadowline trim is excellent. The underside of the car has also been inspected and remains in good order with no cracking issues to boot floor/subframe area.th no cracking issues to boot floor/subframe area.

Interior

Inside you’re treated to a sumptuous M interior with striking two-tone Nappa leather upholstery. As with the exterior of the car there are very few marks or imperfections to report. Commonly worn areas such as the driver’s door pull and centre console trims are still in good shape, and there is no bobbling to the CS-specific Alcantara steering wheel. The car is further equipped with a number of nice options over standard including heated front seats with electric backrest width adjustment and lumbar support, the desirable Harman/Kardon sound system, electric folding door mirrors, an upgraded Pioneer touchscreen head unit, and a handy reversing camera. Everything works exactly as it should, including the AC which has just been recharged.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

The mechanics of the car have just been inspected and the workshop were pleased to report a clean bill of health. The engine bay presents in very good original order with no modifications or signs of accident damage. The S54 engine performs especially well with that intoxicating straight six rasp and, paired with the six-speed SMG transmission, it makes for an engaging and thrilling drive.

History File

This fantastic 2006 M3 CS is one of only 241 UK-supplied E46 M3s spec’d with the sought-after Competition Package (option code ZCP) though it’s understood that 275 RHD examples were produced in total. Over and above the standard M3 the CS featured 19-inch CSL-style alloy wheels, a quicker CSL steering rack, larger cross-drilled brake rotors, a special Alcantara M steering wheel with an M Track Mode setting for the DSC, and unique aluminium interior trim. Aside from an upgraded multimedia system this one has never been modified so all the CS-specific bits are still present and correct. In the hands of 6 registered keepers the car has now driven only 74k miles from new. Better still, it has only even been looked after by either BMW or marque specialists (services detailed below). The last service was carried out in July 2023 at 71k miles and the car comes freshly inspected for the new keeper’s peace of mind.
