This Elan Special Equipment is an older restoration on a genuine Lotus Replacement galvanised chassis. 


The bodywork remains in very good order with just a couple of minor blemishes and the paintwork is clean and tidy.


The original dashboard is still fitted to the car and is in excellent condition as are the door cards and carpets. There is a little wear to the driver's seat and a couple of cracks on the dash top.


Electric windows are fitted and the specification includes drilled and grooved disc brakes

When Colin Chapman decided to create a conventional two-seater sports car, he set himself an ambitious goal. In the early 60s, buyers were spoilt for choice. But the Elan was arguably the best of them all.


Imbued with the Lotus mantra "Make it as light as possible", the Elan was a pleasure to drive. So much so that it inspired the car that revived the wave of small, lightweight sports cars - the MX5.
