In 1935, Railton produced two Light Sports Tourers (LST), one of which achieved second place at the South African Grand Prix that same year. It's unlikely that we will ever see either of these two cars on the track again. So, in the 1960s, Bill Drake, fascinated by their place in automotive history, converted his 1935 Sports Tourer into an LST replica.

In 1998, the mantle of the Railton LST passed to the Fack family from Devon. They continued to race and hill climb the Railton LST with considerable success, primarily in the VSCC Owner Driver Mechanic series. They developed the car for better reliability and performance, As the Fack family's event business grew, there was less time for racing, and the Railton LST was put up for sale. It was soon snapped up as a 75th birthday present by our cilent. Now, in his 85th year and following a successful 65 races over the past nine years—creating amazing memories, including 10 wins and 15 other top-three positions. It's time once more for the mantle to be passed on.

What are you getting with the Railton LST replica? With the unlikely appearance of the original 1935 South Africa GP car, you can be confident in being the fastest Railton around the track and might even win a few races. She isn’t purely a track car; on the road, that straight-eight engine has a deep and strong exhaust note and excellent road manners. The three-speed gearbox is easy to use, and once in top gear, you can stay there pretty much all day while grand touring.

As for the mechanics, where do I start? To say the car has been lavished upon is an understatement. The bills over the last nine years amount to almost £130,000, including converting the main bearings to shell bearings for better engine life. The car has always been professionally maintained and supported at events, and the results speak for themselves:
