EXTERIOR
Azurite Blue with Mushroom leather, a magnificent colour combination well suited to the elegant 90s lines of the 124 estate. Previously the subject of a full repaint to a high standard the car presents in great mileage-defying condition, and mechanically it’s spot-on too. The bodywork has just been treated to a full detail and machine polish revealing a lustrous swirl-free paint finish with only a few small chips and defects to note on close inspection. All the lights and trims remain in fine order and the original 8-hole alloy wheels are unmarked. Not a concours example but a much loved E320 in excellent driving condition.
INTERIOR
The airy 124 interior presents in lovely original condition, a real testament to the superb fit and finish that Mercedes of this era are so well known for. The Mushroom leather seats remain in very good order with only light patination in commonly worn areas; the same is also true of the steering wheel and gear knob. The cabin is lifted further with lashings of walnut trim, a large electric sunroof, and original Mercedes overmats which are all really clean been covered over with another spare set. Desirable factory options include full Mushroom leather upholstery, automatic climate control AC, rearward-facing seats, and the rare 5-speed automatic transmission (4-speed was standard).
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The 3.2-litre straight six is as smooth as ever. The car has just returned from an independent inspection by our trusted classic car specialists who were unable to find any mechanical issues. Reading through the paperwork it’s clear to see that the car has been well cared for by each of its 4 keepers. The current owner of 8 years is a Mercedes-Benz enthusiast who has driven and enjoyed the estate for over 61k miles. During his custodianship he has spent an eye-watering £30k on maintenance and cosmetics to include a full cylinder head refurb, gearbox overhaul, new fuel pumps, rear suspension spheres, regular servicing, and the all-import wiring loom replacement. The underside of the car has also received significant attention so she’s ready to be enjoyed for many years to come.
HISTORY FILE
This attractive E320 Estate was first registered in October 1995. It has now driven 174k miles in the hands of only 4 registered keepers and having been serviced by the same Mercedes master technician since 1999 it has a very unique maintenance history. The current enthusiast owner has really kept on top of things and has spent around £30k on the car during his 61k miles of use. The last service was done in September 2023 at 171k miles, and for the new keeper’s peace of mind a fresh mechanical inspection has just been carried out. We have all driven the car and can certainly vouch for how well it drives.
The accompanying history file comprises the original Mercedes-Benz document wallet and handbooks, the fully stamped service book, a thick raft of invoices and MOT certificates, original sales literature, a fresh HPI report, and a spare remote key. The recorded service history is listed below along with some recent major maintenance items.
