EXTERIOR

Finished in gleaming Jerez Black, this low mileage M3 coupe in sought after Competition Pack spec presents to a very high standard indeed. Free from any scuffs or dings the paintwork retains a deep metallic shine throughout and, quite remarkably, it’s original all round having never required any remedial paintwork. As to be expected with such original paint there is an honest dusting of stone chips towards the front end but little else to detract from the car’s overall highly impressive finish. The headlights are crystal-clear and all the trims are first-rate. A cherished car and a very well spec’d example in excellent unmodified condition.

INTERIOR

The supple Novillo leather has worn extremely well throughout the cabin, retaining a lovely matte sheen free from any major wear. As further testament to the car’s careful ownership the driver’s bolster hints at only light use, and the seat bases are barely even wrinkled. Even commonly worn items such as the steering wheel and centre console remain in fine order with no unsightly marking to any of the switchgear. Another thing setting this one apart from the rest is the list of factory options, which includes the desirable Harman/Kardon sound system, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, DAB radio, and a sliding front armrest. For added driver convenience the car is further equipped with adaptive headlights and parking sensors front and rear.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

At the heart of the E92 M3 is BMW’s venerable S65 V8. Producing 414hp at a screaming 8,300 rpm, the 4-litre powerplant was the last naturally aspirated engine ever to be fitted to an M car. This particular example has driven only 58k miles from new and is accompanied by a comprehensive maintenance record with 15 stamps in the original book. From 2012-18 the car was serviced only at BMW and then, from 2018-present, it has been looked after solely by highly regarded BMW specialist, Barkers Motor Works. Most recently, in May 2024, the car was treated to a preventative big end bearing and rod bolt replacement with new engine mounts and a fresh oil service. The bearings and bolts used were the uprated ACL and ARP parts, the invoice for this work totaling in excess of £2,700. Other than these crucial upgrades the mechanics of the car are entirely unmodified, including the exhaust.

HISTORY FILE

This menacing black on black E92 M3 Competition was first registered in November 2011; in the hands of only 4 owners it has driven just 58k miles from new. Reading through the accompanying paperwork it’s clear the car has always been maintained to the very highest standards, having only ever been worked on by BMW main agents and one marque specialist who has known the car since 2018. Maintenance and services have been carried out in accordance with manufacture guidelines and most recently the car benefits from the all-important ACL con rod bearing upgrade that was completed only 320 miles ago.

The accompanying History File comprises the original BMW document wallet and handbooks, the stamped service booklet (entries below), a raft of main dealer and specialist invoices, MOT certificates, printed photographs from the rod bearing change, a spare remote key, and the V5C showing only 3 former keepers.
