The most exclusive Aston Martin of the 'Gaydon era', One-77 was limited to 77 unique examples. Tantalisingly, the first glimpse the world got of the One-77 hypercar was a maquette of the new car at the 2008 Paris Motor Show, three quarters covered by a grey pin-stripe fabric cover with only a glimpse of the front right side coyly peeping out. The full picture was revealed at the March 2009 Geneva Motor Show, where a metallic blue mockup and rolling chassis with its entire powertrain were on display. The finished car made its bow in late April 2009 at the Concorso d'Eleganza Ville d'Este on the shores of Lake Como, winning the design Award for Concept Cars and Prototypes.
A 7.3 litre development of Aston Martin’s acclaimed V12, specially reworked by race engineers at Cosworth produces 750 horsepower and 553 ft lb of torque, and made the One-77 the most powerful naturally aspirated road-going car in the world at launch. The engine sits 10 centimetres lower than in the DB9, positioned behind the front axle, thanks to the adoption of a dry-sump lubrication system. Power is transferred via a six-speed automated manual transmission through a carbon prop shaft and magnesium-alloy torque tube, with control of the 20-inch rear wheels managed by a limited-slip differential.
Capable of hitting a top speed in excess of 220 mph, the One-77 is sprung with a fully adjustable suspension that automatically lowers at triple-digit speeds, at which point a rear wing deploys to increase downforce. Cross-drilled carbon-ceramic brakes help bring the car back to earthbound speeds.
The One-77’s interior is no less impressive, with carbon fibre and black anodized aluminium trim dominating nearly every surface, while the electronically controlled sport seats and panelling are upholstered with stitched leather and Alcantara. A squared steering wheel and graphite instruments complete the elegant design. Despite the obvious emphasis on performance, the model is equipped with comfort amenities, including a multi-function infotainment screen with satellite navigation, iPod and Bluetooth connectivity, and a Bang & Olufsen premium sound system.
The car we are thrilled to offer for sale was supplied new in 2011 via Auto Performance Aston Martin in Paris, France. It is finished in Bergwerk Black over an Obsidian Black leather interior. Additional factory options include; 10 Spoke Forged Alloy Wheels, Brushed Black Anodised Aluminium Interior Trim, Aston Martin Sound Proofing Kit, and Leather Trimmed Sports Steering Wheel.
The car was kept by its first owner in France until 2019, servicing the vehicle every year with the supplying dealer Auto Performance in Paris. It was purchased by its second and current owner in 2020 and registered in the United Kingdom. It sits today in fantastic condition, showing just over 18,000 km from new and is accompanied by two glass keys, one valet key, Aston Martin car cover, Aston Martin First Aid Kit, One-77 handbook and a One-77 toolkit.
A hypercar in the truest sense, the One-77 is a machine that pushed the boundaries of both engineering and style. The limited production run only adds to the allure of a special model that is so highly revered yet so seldom seen. Contact us now for more information or to arrange a viewing.
