An air-cooled GT3! Oh yes!

Had Porsche been making a GT3 in the early 1980’s, we think this would be it.

Hand built by the team here at Williams Crawford, conceived for the pleasure of driving, and the purity of purpose shines through. This creation is a seriously good air cooled 911.

Just 1000 kg, powered by a 245 bhp 3.0 flat six on ECU controlled throttle bodies, giving you a classic Porsche that absolutely rips.

Specification includes:

  • A completely rebuilt 3.0 engine; new bearings, chains, guides, valve springs, 95mm JE pistons, DC40’s Camshafts from the USA. All new oil pipes, thermostat & fuel lines fitted. AT Power direct-to-head throttle bodies, stand alone DTA S60 ECU, lightweight flywheel and new clutch kit. A stainless SSi exhaust installed with centre outlet, 40% ZF limited slip differential. Transmission control is improved with re-bushed linkage and WEVO 915 Classic shifter.
  • The body has been stripped and refurbished, with particular attention paid to getting that weight down to 1000 kg. After repainting in the original Guards red, all new seals were fitted along with alloy lids front and rear, supported by alloy RS stays. A glass fibre rear bumper was mounted, leaving off the heavy bumper buffers. You might notice that the bumpers were tucked in closer to the body, and headlamp wash was discarded. The oil lines were removed from under the right sill, and now braided lines run through the sills. The jacking points were removed, and strengthening added to the suspension mounts for the EXE-TC installation.
  • The suspension features sophisticated EXE-TC competition coilover suspension, set for fast road use. This features twin tube front struts, rear shocks and adjustable coilovers. Joints were polybushed and turbo tie-rods fitted. Suspension was aligned to a bespoke road setting, and the car was corner balanced for a driver of 90 kg.
  • Brakes are all new by Carbon 12, it’s like automotive jewellery. Black anodised 6 pot aluminium calipers up front, and 4 pot rear, with 300mm x 28mm Carbon 12 discs and Ferodo Racing pads. It stops!
  • The original 16” Fuchs alloys were correctly refinished, which is no small job. Stripped, polished, re-anodised and then painted just like the factory did (albeit on earlier models) with the polished petals, and 5 mm spacers fitted. New Toyo tyres installed (205/50/R16 front and 225/45/R16 rear).
  • On the inside, the original electric sunroof and electric windows remain, but the heavy standard seats were replaced with fabulous Recaro Sportster CS, which tilt forward to allow access to the rear seats. Seats, doors, rear shelf and dash were refinished in quality black leather with Alcantara. The headlining was replaced with ivory. Lightweight door panels, reminiscent of an RS, and lightweight black carpet and Rennline alloy pedal board finish the interior. A period appearance Blaupunkt DOHA 112 BT stereo with Kenwood speakers give modern performance. Under the carpet, lightweight sound deadening gives this 911 the ability to travel in comfort.
  • In the luggage compartment you will see a Rennline strut brace and heater mixer cover, a lightweight battery, lightweight washer bottle and electrical cut off switch.

This 911 is for you if you like something subtle, but different. If you love your driving and appreciate the performance, the sound and the precision in the chassis. It is not for the person who wants one exactly as it left the factory.
