Where do we start with this truly magnificent Triumph TR5?
Genuine British RHD example that has undergone a full chassis up restoration to Concours condition, probably the best TR5 on the market at the moment.
The gentleman that restored this particular vehicle is very well known in the Triumph and indeed the classic car world. Having been building them for 30 odd years, he knows his stuff!
It took around 12 years to get to what you see here. Reproduction parts were not good enough for this build, what needed to be replaced, Stanpart items were fitted.
Built to standard specification, it is running it’s original Lucas fuel injection. The engine is still in it’s running in period!
It drives exactly as you would expect, truly superb in every way.
Triumph White with contrasting Shadow Blue interior. The hood is the original material it would have been when it left the factory. Going with the originality theme, it is still running the steel wheels with ‘Rostyle’ wheel trims. The seatbelts, again genuine items.
The only ‘modern’ addition is really a necessity in this modern day and age. USB socket under the dash for your sat nav/phone etc.
Once it was ready for the road, the first port of call was to the TR Register International weekend where it was entered into the standard class of the Concours event. It won its class and indeed the overall trophy of ‘best in show’.
Thanks to the success at the above event, this TR5 was then sent to be showcased at the 2023 National classic car show at the NEC. Proudly on display all weekend with so many wonderful comments about the condition.
It is as clean underneath as it is on top. You will NOT be disappointed with the amount of attention to detail this TR5 has had lavished at it.
Can be viewed at the showroom, can be put on a lift so you can see the underside.
To build a TR5 to this condition today would be in the region of £120000-£140000. That’s if you could find all the original panels/parts
Truly one for the collector/enthusiast
