1997 Porsche 993 Carrera 2S

Rare in red, this Carrera 2 S is ‘just right’, and with a super history.

Just 3,714 993 C2S were made worldwide for the 1997/98 model years, and have proven very desirable. 

The curvaceous Turbo body might have the best rear in the business. You also get the wider rear track, lowered suspension and subtle ‘2S’ design features. 

Not only does it look great, but it performs well too. It has a sonorous 3.6 litre air-cooled 6 cylinder, putting out 285 bhp to the rear wheels. This gives it plenty of easy-to-use performance and a near 170 mph top speed. Usability is eased by the adaptable Tiptronic gearbox. Real life performance remains excellent; alongside no missed gearshifts, you’ll only wait only 1 second more to 60 mph than the manual. To Tiptronic or not?

Delivered new in March 1997 in Guards Red with black leather, air conditioning and sliding electric sunroof. 

We have the original books, maintenance records, tool roll, spare wheel and jack. Fitted with a Thatcham Cat 1 alarm/immobiliser.

Numbers match the Certificate of Authenticity. 

Previously supplied by ourselves, we remember first handling it in 2010 when it was really special inside out and underneath. It’s not changed much since then, but has benefitted from replacement suspension (KW V3), corner weighting and full alignment. Clearly well cared for, super history and, in our view, wanting for nothing.
